Better Jobs Ontario
Take Advantage of the Better Jobs Ontario Government Grant (Up to $28,000)
Better Jobs Ontario is a government grant provided to laid-off, unemployed, and underemployed individuals to help them find employment in occupations with demonstrated labour market prospects in Ontario. The main intention of the Better Jobs Ontario program is to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become employed or to switch to a better profession using the most cost-effective path.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible, an individual must:
- Have been laid off on or after January 1, 2005.
- Be unemployed (working less than 20 hours a week).
- Be a resident of Ontario.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in Canada.
Financial Support
Better Jobs Ontario provides up to $28,000 for the following:
- Tuition fees
- Book fees
- Transportation
- Living expenses
- Disability support
- Dependent care
Application Procedure
To apply for Better Jobs Ontario, please follow the following steps:
- Attend a NetSoft Information Session and determine if our programs suit you and provide you with guidelines to help you start your Better Jobs Ontario process.
- Arrange for an appointment with an employment advisor at a government service agency to assess your eligibility for Better Jobs Ontario funding.
- Complete the required job market research, look into three college programs of your choice, and complete the financial assistance application form.
- Submit all documents to the government through the employment advisor.
- Once your application is approved, start your program at NetSoft.
